I've often wondered if I moved outside of the United States ( or even outside of Los Angeles), what food items would I miss? What tastes would immediately remind me of home? In and Out burgers would be a hard one. I'd crave the amazing Mexican food that So Cal has in such abundance. I may rarely buy it, but I'd surely miss Froot Loops, Pop Tarts and Snickers bars. I was only in the UK for six weeks last year, but I wanted iced tea every single day of the trip. The first thing that I purchased when I hit U.S. Soil was a Venti Black Iced Tea from Starbucks. Life is just not worth living without iced tea.

One of the treats that Dan misses are rum truffles. Sure, we have them here, but so far, we have not found them to be comparable to his favorites from The Polly's Tea Rooms in the town of Marlborough.

We went to The Polly Tea Rooms for tea and cakes ( or in Dan's case, rum truffles) with Dan's parents on our way to Stonehenge. The restaurant is surprisingly large, with multiple rooms and a bakery section. It was also very crowded, even though we visited on a weekday morning.

I like my sweets and I like my alcohol, but I'm not a fan of putting the two together. Dan is a big fan of adding extra rum to nearly any type of dessert. The good thing about this arrangement, is that we don't have to share our desserts! Score!

I tried a bite of Dan's rum truffles and although they were probably a great example of that sort of dessert, it's not my thing. I stuck with a slice of strawberry cake, which was fabulous. The Polly's Tea Rooms is definitely the place to go for bakery items and looks to serve a fantastic cream tea, which I will have to try on our next trip.
