My fifth Rocksbox came very fast, a five day turn-around. I received it the evening before Thanksgiving. I usually know immediately, if I like a piece enough to keep it, so I try to get the box returned within twenty-fours. However, since I couldn't return it on a holiday, I decided to plan my Thanksgiving outfit around the jewelry and give it a proper test-drive as we walked around the Los Angeles Auto Show.
This was my first non-traditional Thanksgiving and I loved every minute of it. We spent six hours at the auto show and ended with Chinese food for dinner. No dishes for the win.
Jessica styled my fifth box.
Rocksbox cannot guarantee specific requests, but I went ahead and asked for the Robyn Rhodes Agate Spear Cuff in Black to be sent to me. This cuff was on a list of their most requested items and I liked how it looked so different from anything else on their site.
It was funny. I'm not sure if I just have very small wrists, or if I should have worn it higher on the arm, but there was nowhere that it looked right. Here is me, trying it on my wrist. It slid every time I moved my arm.
Awkward fitting and not very flattering, the cuff was an immediate no.
Drusy seems to the popular thing right now, as this was the third box in a row with a drusy item. This week it was the Kendra Scott Mabel Necklace in Gold Platinum Drusy.
I still like the glittery drusy stone, very pretty. However, I didn't like the dark grey stone paired with a thick, yellow-gold chain. When I put it on, the setting was so tiny, that it was impossible to appreciate the sparkle.
The Perry Street Gemma Studs look really pretty in this picture. I love how the crystals catch the light.
But when I put them on, they were very heavy and uncomfortable. If I'm going to be uncomfortable wearing something ( I'm looking at you Rag and Bone Newbury Booties), then I need to absolutely love it. I did not love these earrings.
I took these pictures and packaged everything up to drop-off at the post office on our way to the auto show. Jewelry test-drive over, bring on the trucks!
Fingers crossed that my next box has better pieces.
