It's been about a month since I've done a food review. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I had a terrible cold, which ended up turning into strep throat and the doctor thought possibly Whooping Cough! At any rate, I wasn't eating much and everything I ate tasted funny, so I thought that I better hold off on the reviews. If you can believe it. I didn't even want chocolate for over a month! I normally eat at least a bite of chocolate a day. I love chocolate. This infection was serious. On Saturday, while cleaning the house for the arrival of Dan's parents, we discovered a Yorkie bar and shared it.
Yorkie has come under a lot of controversy for an add campaign with the tagline, "It's Not For Girls." That's A-Okay with me, because this chocolate was terrible. It's chalky and weird tasting. Dan said that it's a competitor to Cadbury, but there is no contest. Cadbury wins hands down. Yorkie wasn't even good enough to have seconds. Usually bad chocolate, is still chocolate, but not with Yorkie. Dan didn't care for it either.
Yorkie is currently manufactured by the Swiss company, Nestle, who bought out the original manufacture, Rowntree Mackintosh in 1988.
